With all of my responsibilities between work and home life (marriage and my daughter), I find it hard to prioritize some of the things I would like to do. Screenwriting has always been a plan of mine but I never really got around to doing it. I wrote a feature length screenplay about 10 years ago and I've written a few short screenplays. I'm also an aspiring filmmaker so I have often tried to write with the intention of shooting which can also be very limiting. You are always reigning in your creativity so that you don't write something that will be too hard to shoot. It's just being practical but Hollywood does not look for practical. They want big, giant, monstrous ideas on big budget scale because this is the type of story that attracts A-list talent. And if you can attach a 'big name' then you can get a movie made. So a large concept has a greater chance at making it through all the noise.

At this point I just want to write to quench my desire to be creative. Ideally, I would love to write and direct but at this point I need to focus my efforts and do the first things first.

Well the Dutch are on top of their game and they are reportedly installing full-body scanners on airports to secure flights to America. This is being done ASAP and some are scanners are simply awaiting a firmware upgrade.
